Overview

The Lenel BlueDiamond mobile ecosystem, a complete cloud-based, keyless mobile credential management platform from Lenel, continues making door access faster and more convenient with a new smartphone app that anticipates user’s door selections, reducing authentication time

The BlueDiamond mobile ecosystem includes an intuitive mobile app, innovative multi-factor Bluetooth and radio-frequency identification (RFID) readers, which are all tightly integrated into the industry-leading OnGuard security management platform to provide one-click issuance and management of mobile credentials.

Quick Connect Feature

The latest version of the smartphone app detects and shows nearby BlueDiamond mobile readers on the home screen. Users can designate regularly accessed doors as favourites, placing them in a tray which makes the readers easier to locate. The mobile app’s quick connect feature pre-authenticates a favourite reader as a user nears a frequently used door, reducing the time to unlock the door.

Other features within the app include notification when approaching favourite doors even if the phone is locked while the app is active in the background. Users can also create custom names for each reader/door and hide seldom or never-used doors.

The BlueDiamond mobile readers support both proximity cards and smartphone credentials and the portfolio includes an optional add-on that can be installed near traditional card readers to add Bluetooth capability to existing installations.

BlueDiamond readers support mobile and wearable devices – including iOS smart devices, Apple Watch and Android. The BlueDiamond mobile app version 2.0 is available for immediate download at the Apple App Store and Google Play.

 

 

Lenel BlueDiamond Mobile readers are part of the complete BlueDiamond mobile solution, incorporating Bluetooth 4.0 low-energy technology. Simultaneous support for a wide range of smart cards and proximity cards means BlueDiamond Mobile readers provide a bridge from legacy plastic badges to cardless mobile access control, and allow seamless integration into existing locations.

Economical and flexible, BlueDiamond Mobile readers are ideal for enhancing freedom of movement in the workplace, allowing employees to have their access credentials on the smart devices they already carry. And because BlueDiamond Mobile credentials can be read from up to 30ft (9M), this also makes the BlueDiamond Mobile solution well-suited for applications where long-read range is important.

BlueDiamond readers support the Supervised F/2F (SF/2F) protocol, in addition to Wiegand, OSDP and OSDP SC. Support for SF/2F will provide a lower cost alternative to a ‘rip and replace’ strategy.  BlueDiamond readers also support OSDP file transfer, enabling customers to send firmware updates as well as reader configuration changes, all from the controller directly to BlueDiamond readers. By enabling customers to remotely update reader software, OSDP file transfer lowers labors costs, saves time and simplifies the update process.
